Tobacco Treatment Guideline Use and Predictors Among U.S. Physicians by Specialty
Physicians play a critical role in tobacco treatment, being a frequent link to smokers and a trusted source of information. Unfortunately, barriers exist that limit physicians’ implementation of evidence-based interventions. Racial/ethnic minorities have a higher prevalence of past 30–day cigar smoking than White, non-Hispanics. Little is known, however, about racial/ethnic differences in advanced cigar-smoking patterns by cigar types. This research explores whether cigar-smoking patterns differ by race/ethnicity and cigar types.
